Firmly established as the preeminent provider in the machinery warranty business, Machine Guard is extending its product range into dealer protection products including Dealers Open Lot, Commercial Property, Business Interruption, Plant Insurance, Employers’ Liability, Public Liability and Commercial Fleet.
The company’s founder, John Shepherd, pioneered the use of multi-year insurance policies for US construction machinery in the 1980s, an innovative solution to construction companies’ needs which ultimately paved the way for the use of multi-year machinery warranties across all of EPG Global’s specialist industries worldwide.
John Shepherd – a Lloyd’s, London and international insurance market leader with 40 years’ experience – established EPG Insurance Services Ltd in 2003 with the dual focus of providing machinery warranties and wholesale insurance broking.
For the warranty arm of the business, the decision to employ people with extensive technical and commercial experience gained from working for world leading manufacturers in the agricultural, construction and groundscare industries proved pivotal to its success. The expertise of EPG Global’s engineers, driven by a passionate interest in the technical detail of machinery, is essential for managing warranty claims quickly and proficiently, which in turn is the cornerstone of our reputation for always acting with integrity.
In the mid to late 2000s, the company took a number of important steps to build for its future. Managing Director Holly Shepherd joined the business in 2006 to lead the company’s international expansion. Holly set up the EMEA headquarters for the company in London followed by the establishment of the Asia Pacific hub in Australia. Following a name change in 2009 to EPG Administration Services, the company has gone on to prosper by building long-term, successful partnerships. Reflecting the worldwide nature of our business, the company was renamed EPG Global in 2019.
